Bible Study Notes for Camp

The Buzz refers to bees as in the Bible Bee for grades 3-5

Key Scriptures - Psalms 8 and 19

B is for Bible (Think of as many Bible words that start with Z as possible) – The Bible teaches us that God has a purpose for creation (Psalm 8 &19)

U is for Us – We are part of God’s plan.

Z is for Zenith – The point directly above us – God is the focus of all creation and every life even the way the north star or the north pole give direction

Z is for ZOO – Think about how all animals play a part in God’s creation. In the same way, all people play a part in God’s church.

6th – 8th Grade Camp - OurSpace.Com

Our – It is ours – God has provide a “network for us” called, the church – It is like a team – In Facing the Giants, what do we learn about teamwork and purpose?

Space – Space is a wide open place where we can meet God – Meet God in this mountain this week

Dot Com – COM refers, this week, to Community and Communion – We learn how to commune with God and live in community with our brothers and sisters.

In the MESSAGE – there are some interesting biblical uses of the term , “BUZZ.”

2 Kings 7:1 - Elisha said, "Listen! God's word! The famine's over. This time tomorrow food will be plentiful—a handful of meal for a shekel; two handfuls of grain for a shekel. The market at the city gate will be buzzing." - 2 Kings 7:1-3 (in Context) 2 Kings 7 (Whole Chapter)

Psalm 27:5 - That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic. Psalm 27:4-6 (in Context) Psalm 27 (Whole Chapter)

Mark 1:27 - Everyone there was incredulous, buzzing with curiosity. "What's going on here? A new teaching that does what it says? He shuts up defiling, demonic spirits and sends them

packing!" News of this traveled fast and was soon all over Galilee. Mark 1:26-28 (in Context) Mark 1 (Whole Chapter)

Luke 5:21 - That set the religion scholars and Pharisees buzzing. "Who does he think he is? That's blasphemous talk! God and only God can forgive sins." Luke 5:20-22 (in Context) Luke 5 (Whole Chapter)

John 9:8 - Soon the town was buzzing. His relatives and those who year after year had seen him as a blind man begging were saying, "Why, isn't this the man we knew, who sat here and begged?" John 9:7-9 (in Context) John 9 (Whole Chapter)

BUZZ is not just something bees do, as in a Bible Bee, but it is the humming of news and witness through social networks when God is doing something and His people are sharing the good news.
